Japan’s Metaplanet reignited its aggressive Bitcoin accumulation strategy, announcing a major Q4 purchase that boosts its holdings on 30 December 2025. Meanwhile, Michael Saylor’s Strategy continues funding Bitcoin buys through share sales, but its stock hits fresh lows amid market pressures.
Metaplanet’s latest purchase of 4,279 BTC comes after a short buying hiatus. This purchase elevates the Tokyo-listed firm’s total holdings to 35,102 BTC. It is Asia’s largest corporate Bitcoin treasuries.
Flaunting 568.2% BTC yield, Metaplanet CEO Simon Gerovich took to X to say, “Metaplanet has acquired 4279 BTC during Q4 2025 for $451.06 million at ~$105,412 per bitcoin and has achieved BTC Yield of 568.2% YTD 2025. As of 12/30/2025, we hold 35,102 acquired for ~$3.78 billion at ~$107,606 per bitcoin.”

Saylor’s (Micro)Strategy purchased 1,229 BTC for $108.8 million between 22 December and 28 December 2025, at an average of $88568 per coin. This purchase was funded by selling 663,450 shares of its common stock. With this, Strategy’s total BTC pile has risen to 672,497. It also remains the largest corporate Bitcoin holder.
However, Strategy’s stock fell 2.2% to $155.39 on 29 December 2025, after the BTC purchase announcement. This is the lowest the company’s stocks have fallen since September 2024. The fall is clearly driven by share dilution, declining BTC prices, and a super cautious investor.
With continued optimism, Saylor took to X on 29 December 2025 to say that “Strategy has acquired 1,229 BTC for ~$108.8 million at ~$88,568 per bitcoin and has achieved BTC Yield of 23.2% YTD 2025. As of 12/28/2025, we hodl 672,497 acquired for ~$50.44 billion at ~$74,997 per bitcoin.”
